About this glossary

A controlled, evidence-based vocabulary for the concepts behind connected AI, automation, data, governance, and growth systems.

Purpose

This glossary exists to provide a reliable, professionally maintained reference for the technical and strategic terminology that shapes modern business systems. It is designed for practitioners, decision-makers, and teams who need clear, sourced definitions they can trust.

Controlled vocabulary

Every term is drawn from a curated master list of 214 approved entries. New terms follow a defined approval process before they appear. The glossary currently contains 9 published terms, with additional entries under review.

Structure of each entry

Each glossary term includes a concise definition, a detailed technical explanation, business relevance, an implementation example where applicable, known limitations or misconceptions, related terms, and cited sources. This structure ensures every entry is both accessible and authoritative.

Sources and attribution

Definitions reference published standards (ISO, NIST, W3C), vendor documentation, peer-reviewed research, and authoritative industry resources. Every source is listed on the relevant term page.

Review process

Terms carry explicit review dates and status indicators. Entries that require updating are flagged and clearly labelled until revised. The editorial cycle ensures definitions remain current as standards and practices evolve.

Nine topic clusters

Terms are organised into nine interconnected topic areas — not as rigid categories, but as a way to explore related concepts across disciplines. A single term may belong to multiple topics when the concept spans boundaries.

  • AI Governance

Accessibility and standards

This glossary is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines. It includes structured data (JSON-LD) for search engines, semantic HTML for screen readers, and a responsive layout optimised for mobile devices and professional reference workflows.
